Lighting Requirements
These corals would all be happy with low to medium light intensity. Most Zoas tend to need very similar care and can be very easy to look after. Sometimes the more rarer species can be an exception but nonetheless, if you see your Zoas staying closed most of the time or shrivelling up a little then moving them somewhere else may be a good option. Also to keep in mind, some Zoas love to soak up high light so if it is relatively dim and a particular zoa looks unhappy you can try move it higher up on your reef – but don’t forget to keep an eye on it until it is truly happy wherever it is.

Flow – Medium
Zoas will let you know if the flow is too high by wobbling a bunch. As they are soft corals they die by dissolving away – if you see zoa numbers diminishing and the remaining looking very shaky then it is definitely far too much flow. We find that our Zoas like to be far away from our stronger wave makers, anywhere close to big rocks for shelter will do fine if there is quite high flow.
